Winterhaven Broadband Project

TDS Telecom (TDS) is proposing to construct a broadband telecommunications network within the boundaries of the Fort Yuma-Quechan Reservation in Winterhaven, California. In total, approximately 16 miles of new fiber-optic and ethernet over copper (EoC) lines will be installed along the existing roads of the Reservation. The purpose of the new network is to provide broadband telecommunications services to the project area by constructing a VDSL2 fiber-optic network cable of 24 Mbps/5 Mbps speeds to an estimated 961 households. In addition, five anchor institutions - San Pasqual Valley High, San Pasqual Middle School, San Pasqual Elementary, San Pasqual Vocational Academy, and Bill M. Manes High - will be served by the new network.
