Tierra’s team of cultural resources professionals has been providing archaeological services since 1993. Our archaeologists identify, evaluate, and mitigate archaeological, historical, and architectural resources within the context of the National Historic Preservation Act (NHPA) and other preservation laws and regulations.

We take pride in our proven track record of successfully completing projects under the jurisdiction of multiple Federal, State, and local agencies. As a result of the quality of our work and the responsiveness of our staff, we have fostered excellent professional relationships with regulatory agencies and our clients.

Our team of expert archaeologists is capable of handling multiple, concurrent small and large scale projects and producing detailed professional reports. Our corporate headquarters has a fully equipped 1,300-square-foot laboratory with a separate wet laboratory for artifact processing and a dry laboratory for artifact analysis. All of our field directors are Organizational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA)–certified Competent Persons, and archaeological staff regularly attend professional events and training seminars to stay up-to-date on current archaeological news, laws, regulations, and research topics.

"During the 10 years of my tenure at the BLM's Safford Field Office, the Tucson-based office of Tierra Right of Way Services, under the guidance of Barbara K. Montgomery, Ph.D., has always produced superior cultural resource reports, maps, and project data for my office. Her staff is always willing to address any question or request that I have presented them with, whether it is a project they are presently working on, a project they have worked on in the past, or a question related to a cultural resource issue that is outside of our work history but Tierra has information on. Tierra's staff is always professional and friendly, from the administrative staff to the field and research archaeologists. I know that when Tierra is on the job, I will get a superior product. I am always happy to work with Dr. Montgomery and her staff."
