Tierra was contracted by Thurston County, Washington, to provide right of way services and acquire 25 parcels for the Mullen Road Project. Mullen Road is a major east-west corridor, and the planned improvements are intended to enhance safety and relieve traffic congestion.

Seattle City Light Right of Way Encroachments
Tierra was contracted by Seattle City Light to remove encroachments on its assets and lands. SCL is a public agency and must enforce a consistent land use policy that assures continuous and safe electric utility operations for their customers and the public.
ADOT Acquisition and Relocation On-Call
Tierra has acquired more than 550 residential and commercial properties parcels as an on-call provider for the Arizona Department of Transportation (ADOT). Tierra’s specific services to ADOT have included coordination and analysis of property titles; coordination of appraisals; and negotiations for acquisitions involving single and multi-family residences, mobile homes, businesses, and heavy industrial properties, including a cement plant. Uniform Act compliance is required on all ADOT projects.
Santa Fe River Greenway Project
Tierra is working with Santa Fe County on a multiyear project to acquire the necessary property rights to complete the Santa Fe River Greenway project, an undertaking that will construct 8 miles of multi-use trails and help restore the Santa Fe River.
Class III Cultural Resources Surveys for the BLM in Navajo County, Arizona
Since 2011, Tierra has completed five major cultural resources surveys for the Bureau of Land Management totaling more than 8,987 acres in Navajo County, Arizona. Performed in support of vegetation and invasive species management and grassland restoration projects, these projects involved Class I records reviews, large-scale Class III pedestrian surveys, and site management and National Register of Historic Places eligibility recommendations.
Archaeological Testing and Data Recovery Excavations at the Dairy Site
Over the last 20 years, Tierra’s cultural resources team has conducted various testing and data recovery projects at a large multi-component prehistoric settlement, known as the Dairy site (AZ AA:12:285[ASM]), in the Town of Marana in the northern Tucson Basin. Our most recent excavation was conducted from 2017 to 2018 at the last remaining intact portion of the Dairy site, the North Locus. Work was conducted to assist Red Point Development in complying with Section 404 of the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) Clean Water Act prior to a proposed residential development project.
Lower Russell Levee Setback Project
Tierra was subcontracted by HDR, Inc., to conduct a cultural resources assessment and subsurface archaeological testing for King County’s Lower Russell Road Levee Setback Project, near Kent. The King County Flood Control District planned to remove and replace the existing flood-containment system of levees and revetments located between the east bank of the Green River and Russell Road.
Monte Cristo Mining District Cultural Resources Studies
Tierra was contracted by the Mount Baker-Snoqualmie National Forest in Washington State to perform a detailed survey and record sites at the Monte Cristo Mining District and townsite. The U.S. Forest Service (USFS) was preparing for a large-scale clean-up intended to remove contaminated soils from several mines, adits, and processing centers within the old townsite. As part of the clean-up process, a full inventory of cultural resources was requested.
